People groups exist in the world that have no access to the gospel, and have never even met a Christian. They have no hope of hearing the gospel unless people go to share it with them.
There are over 17,000 people groups in the world. A people group is described as a specific group of people that share the same language, customs, lifestyle, etc. Of the 17,000 groups, about 7,000 are unreached. This means that there are not churches planting churches present, yet. Of those 7,000, there remain only 1,600 people groups without resident Gospel witnesses. These are called the Unengaged Unreached People Groups (UUPGs).
There is no one there amongst them to proclaim the Gospel...yet.
