Equipping rural churches to apply God’s truth to their lives, reach out and serve their communities, and learn basic life skills.
The TCT Program stands out as a beacon for Christian missionary work and genuine poverty alleviation. Rooted in the desire to address both spiritual and physical hunger, it was initiated in 1996, aiming to foster deep transformations in people's beliefs and actions according to God's teachings. This vision was further crystallized in 1999 at the Vision Conference, emphasizing the centrality of local churches in community development.
However, the program's true strength lies in its approach: a 10-module course that guides rural church communities through studying God's word. More than just theoretical teachings, it encourages them to enact these lessons through Acts of Love in their localities. The essence of TCT is 'wholistic discipleship'. This entails living every aspect of life in harmony with God's word, recognizing every resource as a divine gift and acting with diligence and love.
From its humble beginnings, targeting ten churches in 2003, the program spread rapidly, engaging over 600 churches in a short span. The results? Miraculous transformations. Areas once stricken by poverty now had nourished families, proper sanitation, education access, and an unwavering faith in God. These communities weren't just beneficiaries; they became beacons of change, assisting neighboring regions.
In sum, the TCT Program transcends traditional poverty alleviation. It molds communities to live as true Christians: in alignment with God's principles, flourishing as He intended, and enacting love in tangible ways. This methodology ensures lasting change, marking the program's importance in Christian missionary work.
